Trump said the agreement forms part of his administration's 20 Point Gaza Peace Plan, describing it as a major breakthrough towards ending the conflict. The proposal calls for the complete and phased disarmament of Hamas and other armed groups, alongside the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.
Under the proposed framework, an International Stabilisation Force would oversee security during the transition while a newly established Palestinian police force and civilian administration assume responsibility for governing the territory. International monitors would verify each phase of the disarmament process before Israeli troop withdrawals continue.
Trump said Israeli leaders were "very happy" with the agreement and praised mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey for helping secure the breakthrough. He described the development as an important step towards achieving long term stability in the region.
