Police Hunt Gunman After Chicago Drive By Shooting Injures Six

Chicago police are searching for the suspect responsible for a drive by shooting that wounded six people gathered outside in the city's Humboldt Park neighbourhood during the early hours of Sunday morning.

According to the Chicago Police Department, the shooting occurred at approximately 2:09am when an unidentified offender opened fire on a group of people standing outside before fleeing the scene. Investigators believe the shots were fired from a moving vehicle, although the motive for the attack remains unknown.

Emergency services treated six victims at the scene before they were transported to nearby hospitals. Police said two victims were admitted in critical condition, while the remaining four sustained injuries that were not considered life threatening. Authorities have not yet released the identities or ages of those injured.

Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from the area and speaking with witnesses in an effort to identify the gunman and the vehicle involved. As of the latest update, no arrests have been made, and investigators continue to appeal for information from members of the public.
