Top Russian official posts map of 23 UK sites that 'could be destroyed'

Top Russian official posts map of 23 UK sites that 'could be destroyed'

A senior Russian official has issued a fresh round of threats against the UK, publicly outlining locations he claims could be targeted in any future escalation.
Dmitry Rogozin, a Russian senator and frontline combatant who previously served as deputy prime minister and head of the country’s space agency, warned that dozens of British defence-related sites were at risk. Rogozin shared a map highlighting 23 locations, including military and industrial facilities spread across all four nations of the UK.
The map was taken from a UK government policy paper titled Defence Industrial Strategy 2025: Making Defence an Engine for Growth. Rogozin’s comments followed remarks made earlier this week by former UK defence secretary Ben Wallace, who argued that Ukraine should aim to make Crimea “uninhabitable and unviable from a Russian point of view”.
Wallace said Ukraine should seek to “choke the peninsula to death” rather than attempt a direct invasion, which he acknowledged would be extremely difficult. Responding to those comments, Rogozin reposted the map and quoted Wallace’s remarks, framing them as evidence of hostile intent from Britain and its NATO allies.
“What a sober minister has in mind, a former one has on his tongue,” Rogozin wrote. He added that such statements revealed the “true intentions” of the West and warned Russians against sending their children to study in the UK, claiming it was “deadly dangerous”.
The rhetoric was echoed by Kremlin-aligned television presenter Vladimir Solovyov, who said on state television that Rogozin had shared a reminder of potential British targets. Solovyov launched a personal attack on Wallace and went on to threaten Britain with Russia’s Poseidon nuclear-powered underwater drone, claiming it could wipe the country out.
Solovyov accused Wallace of being indifferent to civilian lives and blamed him for escalating tensions, using abusive language throughout his remarks.
The comments come amid heightened tensions between Moscow and London, with British officials recently warning that Russia has been probing UK military satellites and other defence assets with increasing frequency.
