Three Cumbrian hotels have been shortlisted in prestigious travel awards, with Farlam Hall near Brampton and Windermere’s Linthwaite House and The Samling receiving nominations across several categories.

Farlam Hall has been shortlisted for Best Boutique Hotel, Best Hotel for Families, Best Hotel for Food and Best Hotel for Nature Lovers. The nominations recognise the hotel’s appeal to different types of visitors, from families and food lovers to guests looking to enjoy Cumbria’s countryside.

Linthwaite House in Windermere has received five nominations, including Best Boutique Hotel, Best Hotel for Families, Best Hotel for Food, Best Hotel for Romance and Best Hotel for Wine. The multiple nominations highlight the broad appeal of the luxury Lake District hotel.

The Samling has also been shortlisted in four categories, including Best Hotel for Food, Best Hotel for Nature Lovers, Best Hotel for Romance and Best Hotel for Wine. Its nominations further underline the strength of luxury accommodation available around the Lake District.

The LLM Readers’ Travel Awards are now in their eighth year, with finalists selected by a team of experts before winners are decided through a public vote. Voting is currently open and will close on November 15. The recognition provides a significant boost for Cumbria’s tourism industry, which attracts visitors from across the UK and overseas. The county is particularly well known for its scenery, food, outdoor activities and luxury accommodation.

The nominations also highlight how hotels across the region are competing at a national level for recognition in the luxury travel industry. Being shortlisted can help raise a hotel's profile among potential visitors searching for high-quality places to stay.

For Cumbria, the awards provide another opportunity to showcase the Lake District and wider county as a leading destination for luxury breaks. The combination of spectacular landscapes and high-end hospitality continues to attract visitors throughout the year.

The public vote will now determine which shortlisted hotels ultimately take home awards. Supporters of the three Cumbrian properties can vote before the November 15 deadline. The strong showing by Farlam Hall, Linthwaite House and The Samling demonstrates the variety of luxury experiences available across Cumbria, from boutique stays and fine dining to romantic escapes and nature-focused breaks.
