Speed Camera Vans To Patrol Four Cumbria Routes Today.

05 Sep 2026 Speed Camera Vans To Patrol Four Cumbria Routes Today.

Drivers across Cumbria are being urged to watch their speed today as police speed camera vans are scheduled to operate on several roads across the county.

Cumbria Police’s road safety camera vans will be deployed at a number of locations on Saturday, September 5, as part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety and tackle speeding. The camera vans are expected to operate in Cockermouth, as well as on the A5086 between Cockermouth and Egremont.

Officers will also be monitoring the A595 between Thornhill and Bridgefoot, along with the A66 west of Penrith. The routes cover busy roads used by both local residents and visitors travelling across Cumbria, particularly during the weekend.

Drivers using these roads are reminded to remain aware of changing speed limits and road conditions and to ensure they are travelling at an appropriate speed. Speed enforcement forms part of wider road safety efforts aimed at reducing speed related collisions and casualties across Cumbria.

Motorists are advised to plan their journeys carefully, remain alert and avoid unnecessary speeding when travelling through the county today. The locations of speed camera vans can change depending on road safety priorities and operational requirements, so drivers should always follow the relevant speed limit rather than relying on the absence of a camera van.
