Speed Camera Vans Deployed Across Cumbria Today to Target Dangerous Driving

Police road safety camera vans are operating across several key routes in Cumbria today as part of ongoing efforts to tackle speeding and dangerous driving.

Drivers are being monitored on major roads including the A66 near Penrith, sections of the A6, and stretches of the M6 motorway, along with surrounding areas where traffic volumes are high.

The enforcement activity forms part of a wider road safety strategy aimed at reducing collisions and encouraging motorists to comply with speed limits, particularly on routes known for frequent traffic incidents.

Authorities regularly deploy mobile camera units at different locations across the county, targeting both rural roads and busy commuter corridors. The aim is to improve driver behaviour through visible enforcement and reduce the risk of serious or fatal crashes.
