27 Apr 2026 Speed Camera Vans Deployed Across Cumbria Today to Monitor Traffic

Drivers across Cumbria are being advised to remain cautious as police deploy a number of road safety camera vans throughout the region today, Monday, April 27. The enforcement initiative aims to improve road safety and deter speeding on key routes.

According to the latest update, camera vans will be stationed in several locations including Kirkby-in-Furness, Ulverston, Barrow and Walney, as well as along the coast road between Ulverston and Barrow.

In addition, enforcement will take place on major routes such as the A590 between Green odd and Levens, and the A683 between Sedbergh and Kirkby Lonsdale.

Police regularly publish these locations as part of their strategy to encourage safer driving habits and reduce accidents. Motorists are urged to adhere to speed limits and drive responsibly, particularly on busy and high-risk roads.

The deployment forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance road safety across Cumbria and minimize the risk of collisions caused by excessive speed.
