Five Day Closure Planned For Carlisle Road Resurfacing.

A five day road closure has been planned in Carlisle as resurfacing work is carried out on Brunton Avenue.

Cumberland Council has confirmed that the work is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 7, subject to weather and site conditions. The resurfacing project will cover the section of Brunton Avenue between numbers 1 and 45. A temporary road closure will be introduced while the work is taking place, with a signed diversion route available for motorists.

Work is expected to take place between 8am and 5pm each day during the closure. Residents living within the affected section are being advised that vehicle access to and from properties will not be possible during working hours. Anyone who needs daytime access is encouraged to speak with the site team to discuss arrangements.

On street parking within the closure area will also be unavailable during working hours, and motorists are warned that some delays may be unavoidable depending on the progress of the resurfacing scheme.

Despite the restrictions, access for pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout the closure. Cumberland Council has also confirmed that waste and recycling collections will not be affected by the roadworks.

The work forms part of ongoing efforts to improve road conditions across the area, with residents and road users advised to plan ahead while the resurfacing is carried out.
