Workington Comets Beaten by Redcar Bears in BSN Series Clash
Workington Comets fell to a 48–42 defeat against Redcar Bears in their latest BSN Series Northern Group fixture at Northside Speedway.
The Comets went into the meeting needing a strong result after trailing from the first leg, but the visitors held their advantage to secure victory and progress further in the competition.
Redcar’s win was built on a solid team performance, with Nicolai Klindt unbeaten after his opening race defeat and Jake Allen also reaching double figures with 10 points. Reserve rider Jody Scott played a key role, scoring 11 points from five rides, helping the Bears dominate crucial heats.
For Workington, skipper Jonas Jeppesen delivered another standout display, scoring 16 points from six rides and winning four races. He was supported by Troy Batchelor with 8+1 and Kyle Howarth with 9 points, but it was not enough to overturn the deficit.
The match remained competitive throughout, with Jeppesen and Klindt producing one of the highlights in Heat 15, a thrilling battle that ultimately sealed Redcar’s win.
Despite the loss, the Comets once again demonstrated their attacking potential, but Redcar’s strength in depth proved decisive as they claimed the aggregate victory and secured their place in the next stage of the BSN Series.
