Ulverston Running Club Begins Quest for Cross-Country Glory
Ulverston Running Club has officially launched its 2025–26 cross-country season, marking the start of an exciting campaign aimed at achieving competitive success and strengthening community engagement.
Club members and supporters gathered recently to celebrate the beginning of what many hope will be a memorable season. With a number of races on the regional calendar, athletes of all levels are preparing to test themselves against local rivals across challenging terrain.
Leading the charge is one of the club’s most experienced female athletes, who has been described as playing a central role in motivating her teammates and setting high standards for performance this season. Her leadership has been highlighted as a key factor in the club’s cross-country aspirations.
Club representatives say this year’s focus is not only on competitive results but also on fostering teamwork, encouraging new members to participate, and building a strong sense of camaraderie ahead of major events later in the winter.
Ulverston Running Club, affiliated with Hoad Hill Harriers and based at the town’s sports grounds, regularly hosts training sessions and community runs throughout the year. Members compete in a variety of races, including cross-country meets and club-organised events in Cumbria and beyond.
With regional fixtures drawing runners from across the area, the season promises plenty of action for enthusiasts and supporters alike as the club pursues cross-country glory.
