Swindon Town Beat Barrow AFC 3-1 With Strong Second Half Comeback
Barrow AFC suffered a 3-1 defeat to Swindon Town in their League Two clash on Saturday, with the hosts overturning an early deficit to take all three points.
The opening stages saw Barrow take the lead through a goal from Danny Rose, giving them an early advantage and raising hopes of a positive result. Swindon responded before half-time when Ollie Palmer equalised with a well-taken finish from a corner, setting the contest level at the break.
In the second half Swindon stepped up their performance and took control. Aaron Drinan scored twice in the final 15 minutes to complete the comeback and seal a 3-1 win for the home side.
Swindon manager Ian Holloway welcomed the victory and praised his team for responding after falling behind, though he also expressed frustration over off-field issues involving a disciplinary matter that saw his captain unavailable and resulted in a fine for his club.
Barrow manager Paul Gallagher admitted he was disappointed with how his side performed after the interval, saying the first half showed promise but the team failed to maintain intensity and commitment in the second half. He emphasised the need for basics such as tracking runs and competing in duels if the team are to collect points in future matches.
The result sees Swindon move up in the League Two standings while Barrow look to regroup ahead of their next fixture.
