Hens and Milestones Celebrate Another Busy Penrith parkrun
Penrith parkrun once again brought together runners, joggers, and walkers for a vibrant 5km community event at French field Sports Centre.
A total of 388 participants took part, including 75 first timers and 15 people completing their very first parkrun. The event was supported by 42 dedicated volunteers who ensured everything ran smoothly from start to finish.
Conditions were favourable, allowing 75 participants to achieve new personal bests. Among the standout performances, Arran Robson led the field as first finisher in 17:05, while Coral Mowbray was the first female finisher, also recording a strong run.
The morning was also marked by a series of milestone achievements, with several runners reaching key career landmarks. Greg Clement and Katie Pollitt both completed their 25th parkrun, while Seamus Moore, Chester Bowness, and Verena Johnston celebrated their 50th. Rory Robertson reached his 100th parkrun, David Hallam completed his 200th, and Keith Patterson achieved an impressive 450 events.
Beyond the running achievements, the event highlighted the importance of community volunteering. One long-serving volunteer, Carolyn Burns, marked her 350th volunteer role, underscoring the dedication that keeps parkrun running every week.
As always, Penrith parkrun demonstrated its inclusive spirit, welcoming participants of all ages and abilities, from first-time walkers to experienced runners, all sharing the same course and community atmosphere.
