Cumbria’s ARL Sides Continue Strong Run of Form Across Local Competitions

09 Jun 2026 Cumbria’s ARL Sides Continue Strong Run of Form Across Local Competitions

Cumbria’s amateur rugby league clubs continued their strong recent form with a series of convincing performances across the Conference and Men’s League competitions.

Several sides underlined their attacking strength with high-scoring victories, while others ground out important wins in tightly contested fixtures that showcased the competitive nature of the local game.

Barrow Island were among the standout performers once again, extending their excellent run of form with a commanding win built on relentless attacking pressure and multiple try scorers. Their ability to consistently break defensive lines has made them one of the most dangerous sides in the competition this season.

Ellenborough Rangers also impressed, producing another powerful display to secure a comfortable victory. Their forwards laid a strong platform, allowing their backline to capitalise on field position and maintain control throughout the contest.

Maryport responded positively to recent results with a hard-fought win in a closely matched encounter. Despite periods of pressure from their opponents, they showed resilience and composure in key moments to secure the result.

Elsewhere, Hen Singham maintained their excellent form at the top end of the table with another strong performance, continuing their push as one of the leading sides in the Cumbria Conference. Their structured attack and disciplined defence again proved decisive.

Millom and several other clubs also contributed to a weekend filled with entertaining matches, where momentum swings and individual brilliance featured heavily. The fixtures highlighted the depth of talent across the region, with younger players continuing to step up alongside experienced campaigners.

With the season now well underway, the standings across both divisions are beginning to take shape, but the latest round of results shows that competition remains tight, with several clubs capable of challenging on any given weekend.
