Cumbrian law firm backs Carlisle United Ladies

A Cumbrian law firm has renewed its support for one of the county’s leading women’s football teams for the ninth year in a row. Bendles Solicitors has continued its long-standing partnership with Carlisle United Ladies FC, which began in 2016 when the daughter of a staff member played for the team.
The firm has confirmed another year of sponsorship as part of its commitment to backing local organisations. Partner Hannah Smith said the firm is passionate about supporting community initiatives and helping women’s football continue its growth in England. She added that Bendles, which has offices in Carlisle, Wigton and Whitehaven, hopes its support will boost recognition of the team locally and further afield.
Carlisle United Ladies manager Tracy Gannon, who has coached across Cumbria for more than 35 years, said Bendles’ backing has been vital and reflects shared values of community involvement. She said funding for adult teams is increasingly scarce, making support from local businesses essential. Over the years, Bendles has taken part in training sessions with the players and even hosted a pizza night for the squad to watch the Lionesses during the Euros.
