Cristiano Ronaldo Marries Georgina Rodriguez In Private Portugal Ceremony.
Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has married his longtime partner Georgina Rodriguez in a private ceremony in Portugal, marking a major milestone in the couple's decade long relationship.
The wedding took place on Tuesday in Cascais, an exclusive seaside resort around 30 kilometres west of Lisbon, where Ronaldo and Rodriguez own a villa. The ceremony was described as private and intimate, with the couple's five children in attendance. Ronaldo, 41, confirmed the marriage by sharing a photograph of the couple's hands showing their wedding rings. He accompanied the image with the simple caption “C [heart] G” on Instagram.
The wedding came exactly one year after Rodriguez, 32, announced their engagement on social media. The couple had been together for around 10 years, having first met in Madrid in 2016 when Rodriguez was working at a Gucci store.
Their relationship has developed into one of the world's most recognisable celebrity partnerships, extending well beyond Ronaldo's football career. Together, the couple have more than 750 million followers across social media platforms and have built business interests including fashion brands and hotels.
The wedding location had been the subject of considerable speculation in Portugal in the days leading up to the ceremony. Reports had suggested that the couple could marry in either Sintra, near Lisbon, or Funchal on the island of Madeira, Ronaldo's birthplace.
Speculation surrounding a possible ceremony in Funchal even attracted hundreds of people to the city's cathedral after reports suggested the wedding could take place there. However, the cathedral had confirmed that no wedding ceremony for Ronaldo was scheduled.
The couple ultimately chose Cascais, a popular luxury destination known for its coastline and high profile residents. Rodriguez has also built a significant public profile of her own. She starred in the Netflix series I Am Georgina, which follows aspects of her family life, career, fashion interests and travels.
Ronaldo remains one of football's biggest global stars. The Portugal international currently plays for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia and previously enjoyed hugely successful spells with Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus.
The forward has won the Ballon d'Or five times and remains one of the most followed athletes in the world. He also represented Portugal at the 2026 World Cup, where the team was eliminated in the last 16. For Ronaldo and Rodriguez, the wedding represents the latest chapter in a relationship that has attracted enormous international attention throughout the past decade.
Despite their global profiles, the couple chose to keep the ceremony relatively private, surrounded by their children and close family. The private Portuguese wedding now marks the beginning of a new stage for one of football's most famous couples, combining their family life with the worldwide attention that has followed them throughout their relationship.
