Barrow Sign Left Sided Defender Ahead Of National League Campaign

06 Aug 2026 Barrow Sign Left Sided Defender Ahead Of National League Campaign

Barrow AFC have strengthened their defence by signing Thierry Latty-Fairweather ahead of the opening weekend of the new National League season.

The 23 year old joins Adam Murray's squad just days before Barrow begin their National League campaign with an away fixture against Hartlepool United at Victoria Park. The move marks another addition as the Bluebirds continue rebuilding following relegation from League Two.

Latty-Fairweather came through the academy at Burton Albion and has accumulated more than 10,000 minutes of senior football despite his age. During his career he has gained experience with Guiseley, Hereford, York City, Maidenhead United, and most recently FC Halifax Town.

Comfortable at left back or on the left side of a back three, the defender arrives with extensive National League experience. Last season he made 35 appearances for Halifax Town, helping the club finish eighth and narrowly miss the play off places.

Manager Adam Murray believes the signing will provide additional depth and flexibility to Barrow's defensive options. The club highlighted Latty-Fairweather's athleticism, versatility, and proven experience at National League level as key reasons for bringing him to Holker Street.

Supporters will hope the new arrival helps solidify the defence as Barrow aim to make a strong start in their bid to challenge near the top end of the National League table this season.
