Public Event to Tackle Anti-Social Behaviour Concerns in Kirkby Stephen

30 Apr 2026 Public Event to Tackle Anti-Social Behaviour Concerns in Kirkby Stephen

A public drop-in event is being organised in Kirkby Stephen to give residents the opportunity to raise concerns and learn more about efforts to tackle anti-social behaviour in the town.

The session will bring together local policing teams and community partners to discuss issues affecting parts of the area, including reports of nuisance behaviour, vandalism, and disturbances that have been raised in recent months. Similar concerns have previously led to increased police patrols and engagement work with schools and community groups in the town.

Officers have previously highlighted key hotspots such as town centre areas and recreational spaces, where they have responded with targeted patrols, school visits, and community discussions aimed at preventing further incidents and educating young people about the impact of their actions.

The upcoming event is intended to strengthen communication between residents and authorities, allowing people to share experiences directly and contribute ideas for improving safety and reducing disorder. It also forms part of wider efforts across the area to support community-led solutions and early intervention strategies.

Police have consistently encouraged residents to report incidents and work together with local agencies, stressing that community cooperation is essential in reducing anti-social behaviour and improving public confidence.

The drop-in session is expected to provide updates on current policing activity and ongoing partnership work, while giving the public a chance to ask questions and help shape future actions in the town.
