Ulverston Town Council Pays Tribute to Former MP and Councillor Colin Pickthall

Ulverston Town Council has announced the death of Colin Pickthall, a former Member of Parliament and respected local councillor.
Mr Pickthall, who served as MP for West Lancashire and later represented Ulverston as a town councillor, including a term as Leader of the Council, passed away on Saturday, 27 December 2025 at Furness General Hospital.
Well known across the community for his decades of public service, Mr Pickthall played a significant role in both national and local government.
The council confirmed that a service to celebrate his life will be held at Ellers Chapel in Ulverston on Monday, 19 January, starting at 11:30am.
