Teen Arrested Following Shop Robberies in Carlisle City Centre
A 17-year-old has been arrested in connection with robberies at two shops in Carlisle city centre.
Police were alerted to the incident at approximately 12:35pm on Tuesday, April 7, following reports of a man causing concern inside two premises on English Street.
According to police, the suspect was believed to be carrying a bladed article during the incident. No injuries were reported.
Officers responded swiftly and carried out enquiries across the city centre. The teenager was arrested shortly afterwards on suspicion of robbery and possession of a bladed article. He remains in police custody.
Authorities said there was an increased police presence in Carlisle as officers conducted searches and gathered information following the incident.
Police also thanked members of the public for their assistance, which helped officers locate the suspect quickly.
