Cumbria Police Reveal Speed Camera Locations for January 16

Cumbria, UK, cumbria police have published the county-wide locations where mobile speed camera vans will be operating on Friday, January 16, as part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety and reduce dangerous driving.
Motorists are being reminded to adhere to posted speed limits as mobile enforcement units will be in service across several major routes and rural roads throughout the day. The police use these mobile units to monitor traffic and encourage safer driving behavior, particularly in areas with a history of speed-related collisions.
Cumbria Police’s road safety camera vans will be operating in the following areas on January 16:

Carlisle and surrounding routes
Cockermouth and local road network
Penrith and nearby sections of the A66
Multiple stretches of the M6 motorway between junctions
Other rural roads where safety cameras have previously been deployed regularly

The police have not reported any incidents linked to these enforcement operations but emphasise that the primary aim is accident prevention and protecting vulnerable road users.
Cumbria’s use of mobile speed cameras complements fixed cameras and regular police patrols, helping maintain consistent compliance with speed limits and addressing community concerns about speeding traffic.
Drivers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly, remain vigilant, and observe all speed limits to avoid penalties.
