Appeal Issued for Missing Workington Woman as Police Seek Public Help

09 May 2026 Appeal Issued for Missing Workington Woman as Police Seek Public Help

An urgent police appeal has been launched following the disappearance of a woman from Workington, Cumbria, with officers seeking help from the public to trace her whereabouts.

Cumbria Constabulary confirmed that the woman was last seen in the Workington area before she was reported missing. Since then, there has been no confirmed contact, prompting growing concern among officers and her family for her safety.

Police say they are actively carrying out enquiries, which include reviewing CCTV footage, speaking to potential witnesses, and searching areas where she may have been seen. Local officers are also working closely with partner agencies as part of the ongoing investigation.

Authorities have stressed that every piece of information, no matter how small it may seem, could be important in helping establish the woman’s movements. Members of the public are being urged to check any dashcam footage, doorbell cameras, or mobile recordings that may have captured relevant details.

Residents in Workington and surrounding areas have been asked to remain vigilant and report any possible sightings immediately. Police have also encouraged the missing woman herself, if she sees the appeal, to make contact so officers can confirm she is safe and well.

The appeal remains active as search efforts continue across West Cumbria, with officers maintaining that their priority is to ensure her safe return.
