31 Mar 2026 roy Batchelor Signs for Premiership Newcomers Northampton Foxes

Australian speedway rider Troy Batchelor will race for Northampton Foxes in the upcoming Premiership season, while also continuing with his current team, the Workington Comets.

Batchelor, who is preparing for his third season with the Comets, is one of three former Speedway Grand Prix competitors named in the Foxes’ inaugural top-flight line-up.

Joining him in the Northampton squad are fellow experienced riders Niels-Kristian Iversen and Matej Zagar, giving the new club a strong mix of international talent.

The Foxes have also recruited Australian international Jaimon Lidsey as their number one rider, with Kye Thomson completing the team. Two former Workington riders Nicolai Klindt and Luke Harrison  are also part of the group.

The club has unveiled its new team colours of blue and orange, and will begin their Premiership campaign with an away meeting against King’s Lynn on April 20, followed by a visit to champions Ipswich on April 23. Their first home fixture at Northampton International Speedway is scheduled for April 30 against the Ipswich Witches.

Batchelor’s addition to the Foxes adds significant experience to the fledgling side as they prepare for life in British speedway’s top division.
