Police Seize £100,000-Worth of Ketamine in Vehicle Stop Near Carlisle
Carlisle, UK Two men have been charged after officers discovered a significant quantity of illegal drugs during a vehicle stop near Carlisle in the early hours of Saturday, January 31.
Police halted the car just after midnight and, upon searching it, found approximately 5 kilograms of ketamine with an estimated street value of £100,000. A smaller amount of cocaine was also recovered from the vehicle.
The driver and passenger, identified as 22-year-old Robbie McBride of Findlay Drive, Glasgow, and 23-year-old Shaun Crotty of Old Dumbarton Road, Glasgow, were both arrested at the scene.
They have since been charged with multiple offences, including:
Possession with intent to supply a Class B drug (ketamine)
Possession with intent to supply a Class A drug (cocaine)
Failing to stop a vehicle
Possession of criminal property
Both men are scheduled to appear before Carlisle Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 2.
