22 May 2026 Carlisle’s iCan Wellbeing Group Named Among UK’s Best Workplaces

iCan Wellbeing Group has been recognised as one of the best places to work in the United Kingdom for employee development.

The Carlisle-based wellbeing organisation was ranked 55th in the UK in the 2026 Great Place to Work rankings, which celebrate companies that prioritise staff growth and career progression.

The annual list highlights businesses that provide strong opportunities for employees to develop new skills, progress professionally and feel supported in the workplace. Companies are assessed on workplace culture, leadership, employee benefits and confidential staff feedback.

iCan Wellbeing Group said it encourages employees to follow tailored development plans designed around their personal and professional goals. The organisation, which focuses on fitness, wellbeing and community support programmes, has been operating in Cumbria since 2007.

Employee Natasha Wordsworth-Green described the workplace as “an extension to my family,” praising the supportive environment created within the organisation.

Lisa Bridgewater, co-founder and chief operating officer, thanked staff for their dedication to delivering services to local communities while continuing to grow and develop professionally.

Benedict Gautrey, managing director of Great Place to Work UK, said organisations that invest in learning and development help employees feel more motivated, engaged and committed to their roles.
