Young Man Admits Role in Drug Supply Network After Arrest Exposes Hidden Operation
A 21-year-old man from Carlisle has admitted his role in supplying heroin, cocaine, and cannabis, following a police investigation that began with an unrelated arrest. Authorities discovered crucial evidence that linked him directly to drug distribution activities in the area.
The suspect, Leon Ingledow, was detained by police over the weekend. During the arrest, officers found a wrap of cocaine hidden in a sock, raising immediate suspicion. Further investigation led to the seizure of his mobile phone, which later proved to be a key piece of evidence.
Analysis of the device revealed his involvement in the supply of multiple illegal substances, including cocaine, heroin, and cannabis. In court, Ingledow admitted to being directly concerned in the supply of all three drugs.
The court also heard that the young man has a history of criminal activity, with six previous convictions covering 13 offences. His past includes a prison sentence linked to theft, where he was involved in stealing a vehicle from a vulnerable individual.
During the hearing, the defence suggested that the scale of the drug operation appeared to be limited and likely linked to street-level dealing, rather than a large organized network. However, the judge emphasized that the seriousness of the offences required the case to be moved to a higher court.
The case has now been committed to Carlisle Crown Court, where sentencing powers are greater. Ingledow is scheduled to appear again in late April, with a pre-sentence report ordered to assess the circumstances further.
He has been granted conditional bail until the next hearing, as the legal process continues.
