Young Hound Trainers Celebrate Outstanding Loweswater Show Results
Team Foxparke enjoyed a highly successful afternoon at Loweswater Show, with the kennel winning three of the four races and its young trainers celebrating an impressive haul of results.
The event featured four races, with Foxparke only missing out on victory in the pups competition. They secured the seniors race, won the open maiden and finished the afternoon with victory in the open restricted.
The three wins gave the kennel a notable treble, while its runners collected a total of 13 tickets across the four-race programme. The achievement underlined the strength and consistency of the Foxparke entries throughout the day.
The opening seniors race featured five runners. Foxparke Oink Oink initially led the field alongside kennelmate Foxparke Honk Honk, with the pair opening a gap over Lucky Lottie.
As the hounds moved through the fell, another Foxparke runner, Beep Beep, had taken control at the front. Beep Beep continued to hold the advantage while Honk Honk remained in pursuit, with Oink Oink and Lucky Lottie further behind.
Beep Beep maintained the lead into the final field and went on to secure the victory. Honk Honk finished second, followed by Lucky Lottie, Oink Oink and Zoya.
The pups race saw eight runners take part, with Foxparke Whoop Whoop making a strong start. The Foxparke runner remained prominent as the field climbed the back fell, while Jubilee’s Jackpot and Merle also stayed close to the leaders.
The order changed during the descent, with Whoop Whoop dropping back before recovering strongly and moving into contention again. Three runners eventually held a clear advantage approaching the finish, with Croft Mist, Jubilee’s Jackpot and Whoop Whoop battling for the leading positions.
Croft Mist produced the strongest finish to take the pups race, with Jubilee’s Jackpot coming home second and Whoop Whoop third. Merle finished fourth, followed by Thorn Dot and Fable.
Team Foxparke then returned to winning form in the open maiden, where the kennel had several runners among the 12 competitors. Foxparke Dealer made the early running before Whoosh moved into the lead during the descent.
Whoosh began to pull away from Thorn Pop, Dealer and Dupe before maintaining the advantage through the final gate. The hound held on to win, completing a double for the kennel and giving Foxparke another first and second.
Dealer finished runner-up, with Thorn Pop taking third and Dupe fourth. Jiggle and Majesty completed the first six, meaning Foxparke accounted for five of the six available tickets in the race.
The final event was the open restricted, which attracted 11 runners. I Am It made the early running, with Foxparke Fairlady among those challenging near the front alongside Thorn Heart and Miss Becky.
Fairlady moved into a stronger position towards the top of the fell and briefly battled with Thorn Heart as the runners began their descent. Thorn Heart then moved ahead before the field disappeared from view.
Four runners were closely matched as they approached the finish, including Croft Lass, Fairlady, Ruby and Foxparke Rita’s Rose. Fairlady finished strongly in the final field to reclaim the lead and secure victory.
Croft Lass finished second, with Rita’s Rose third. Thorn Heart, Ruby and Foxparke Sassy Girl completed the listed finishers as Fairlady’s victory sealed the kennel’s treble.
The results from Loweswater provided a particularly successful showcase for the Foxparke team and its young trainers. Three wins from four races, combined with 13 tickets overall, made it a standout afternoon for the kennel.
The full results from the show saw Foxparke Beep Beep win the hounds race in 33.01 seconds, while Croft Mist took the pups race in 18.43 seconds. Foxparke Whoosh won the open maiden in 18.22 seconds, with Foxparke Fairlady completing the treble in the open restricted in 18.40 seconds.
