A woman in her 20s is in hospital with serious injuries after falling from a height at Carlisle Railway Station in Carlisle city centre. Police were called following concerns about her welfare before she was found at the station.

Police were contacted at around 5.15pm on Saturday, September 5, after concerns were raised about the woman. She had previously been reported missing, prompting officers to respond to the situation.

The woman was subsequently located at a height at Carlisle Railway Station, situated on Court Square Brow. Officers found her a short time after receiving the report concerning her welfare.

Police confirmed that the woman subsequently fell from the height at the railway station. She sustained serious injuries as a result of the fall and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The incident has prompted an investigation by officers, who are now working to establish the full circumstances surrounding what happened at the station.

At this stage, police have not provided further details about the circumstances that led to the woman being at the height before she fell.

The woman had been reported missing before she was located at Carlisle Railway Station, with officers responding after concerns were raised about her welfare.

The station is located on Court Square Brow in Carlisle city centre, where the woman was found shortly after police were contacted.

The serious injuries suffered by the woman have required hospital treatment, although no further information about her condition has been released.

Police are continuing to establish what happened before the fall and are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. Officers are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who was in the area at the relevant time and may have seen events at or around Carlisle Railway Station.
