Woman Secretly Photographed in Leisure Centre Changing Room

01 Apr 2026 Woman Secretly Photographed in Leisure Centre Changing Room

A police investigation is underway following a disturbing incident at a leisure centre in Kendal, Cumbria, where a woman was allegedly photographed without her consent inside a changing room.

The incident occurred on March 7 at around 5:45pm at Kendal Leisure Centre. According to reports, the victim was using a cubicle in the swimming pool changing area when she noticed a mobile phone being placed beneath the partition. The device was reportedly used to take photographs while she was getting changed.

Authorities say the phone involved is believed to be a white iPhone, possibly a model 13 or 14, kept in a clear case with cards visible inside. The suspect has been described only as a white individual with distinctive French-tip style fake nails.

Police are appealing to the public for any information that may assist with the investigation. Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity or has relevant details is urged to contact Cumbria Police, quoting the incident reference number.

The case has raised fresh concerns about safety and privacy in public changing facilities, with officials urging vigilance and prompt reporting of any unusual behaviour.
