Woman Arrested After Four Men Stabbed In Central London

06 Aug 2026 Woman Arrested After Four Men Stabbed In Central London

Four men were injured after a stabbing in central London, with police describing the incident as isolated and linked to mental health concerns.

The incident occurred on Endell Street near Covent Garden, one of London's busiest tourist districts. Emergency services responded after reports of multiple people being attacked shortly after midday.

The victims, aged 34, 39, 42 and 52, suffered stab wounds and were taken to a major trauma centre. Police said two men were treated and discharged, while the remaining two continue to receive hospital treatment for injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

A 47 year old woman was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault and possession of an offensive weapon. Officers recovered a pair of scissors, which they believe was used during the attack.

The Metropolitan Police said early enquiries indicate the incident was random and isolated. Chief Superintendent Jason Stewart said investigators currently believe the attack was mental health related and that there is no wider threat to the public.

Witnesses described a rapid emergency response as armed officers and ambulance crews arrived within minutes. A police cordon remained in place while forensic teams examined the area and investigators gathered evidence.

Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack and have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or captured footage to contact police. Authorities have thanked members of the public for their cooperation during the emergency response.
