Tributes Pour In for Cumbrian Man Following A69 Tragedy

A heartbroken family has paid tribute to their loved one following a fatal collision in Northumberland earlier this month.
At about 6.25pm on Friday, November 7, police received a report of a collision on the A69 between Brampton and Haltwhistle, near the junction for Blenkinsopp Castle.

It was understood that a black Mercedes GLA 200 had been travelling westbound when, for reasons yet to be established, it has collided with a red HGV travelling in the opposition direction.

A grey BMW 3 Series and a black Volvo XC60 travelling westbound were also damaged as a result of debris from the collision.
The driver of the Mercedes, 75-year-old David Pieri, known as Dave, from the Carlisle area, died at the scene.
His family paid tribute to him this week.
They said: “Dave was charismatic, well liked and always had a story to tell. He was much loved by many, but none more so than us.
“He was the anchor of our family and we will always remember him as the generous, hardworking, funny family man he was, and we will forever cherish the precious memories we have.”
