Tributes pour in for Barrow Raiders stalwart Keith Holt

Keith gave decades of service to the Raiders in a wide range of voluntary roles, including a period on the board as a director.
Chairman Steve Neale paid tribute to Keith’s commitment and guidance, saying his support had been invaluable in helping him settle into the role.
A statement released on the Barrow Raiders Facebook page this morning (Sunday, November 23) read: “Barrow Raiders are saddened to hear of the passing of one of their most dedicated behind-the-scenes workers; Keith Holt.
“Keith worked tirelessly for the club in many voluntary capacities, including a spell as director, and was always on hand when the going got tough.
“Chairman Steve Neale would like to place on record his thanks to Keith for helping him to ease into the role and providing knowledge on the many facets of running the club. He will be sorely missed.
“Our thoughts are with Keith’s family and friends.”
Supporters also paid tribute to Keith underneath the post, sharing their condolences and memories online.
One wrote: “RIP Keith, you were a massive part of the Raiders’ success behind the scenes, a lot of people didn’t see. It was a pleasure to have met and worked with you, my thoughts are with your family at this sad time.”
Another said: “RIPT Keith…top man. Brought us in as volunteers to help around the ground a lot of years ago now and will be sadly missed. Condolences to all the family.”
A further tribute read: “Great Man and fantastic input to Barrow Rugby club, many thanks Keith you will be massively missed.”
Another added: “Condolences to Keith’s family and to all at the club. One of the people who have made Barrow such a friendly club to outsiders like me.”
