Three Teenagers Arrested After Anti-Social Behaviour at Penrith Railway Station
Three teenagers have been arrested after police were called to reports of anti-social behaviour at Penrith Railway Station in Cumbria late on Sunday evening.
Officers attended the scene at approximately 9:50pm on May 11 following complaints of disorder involving a group of youths at the station. Upon arrival, police identified and detained three individuals in connection with the incident.
During the course of the arrests, officers also recovered two bicycles that are suspected to have been stolen from the local area. Police believe the bikes may have been taken earlier and are now working to trace their rightful owners.
The three teenagers were taken into custody for questioning as part of an ongoing investigation into both the anti-social behaviour and the possible theft of property.
Local authorities have since issued an appeal for information, urging members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or seen the youth's riding bicycles in or around the station at the time to come forward.
Residents living near the railway station and surrounding neighbourhoods are also being encouraged to check whether any of their bicycles are missing. Police have stressed the importance of reporting any suspected thefts promptly to assist with the investigation.
The incident has raised concerns among local residents about safety and behaviour in public transport areas, particularly during late evening hours. Police have reassured the public that they are taking the matter seriously and will continue to carry out patrols in the area to prevent further incidents.
Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact Cumbria Police via the non-emergency number 101. Information can also be provided anonymously through independent crime reporting channels. Police inquiries remain ongoing.
