Temporary Traffic Lights for Vegetation Clearance on Carlisle Road
Drivers in Carlisle are being warned of temporary traffic management as essential vegetation clearance works get underway on a local road.
The work, which involves cutting back overgrown trees and shrubs, is being carried out to improve visibility, safety, and access along the route. It is part of ongoing maintenance to keep the highway network clear and safe for road users.
To allow the work to be completed safely, temporary traffic lights will be installed along the affected section of Carlisle Road. The system will help manage traffic flow while contractors operate within the carriageway and roadside areas.
Motorists are being advised to expect possible delays during peak times and to allow extra travel time where possible. The traffic management measures will remain in place for the duration of the vegetation clearance works.
Access for residents and emergency services will be maintained throughout the project, and disruption is expected to be kept to a minimum.
The council has said the works are necessary to maintain road safety standards and ensure that vegetation does not obstruct visibility or encroach onto the carriageway.
Once the clearance is complete, normal traffic flow will be restored.
