Speed Camera Vans To Operate Across Cumbria
Drivers across Cumbria are being reminded to observe speed limits as road safety camera vans are scheduled to operate at several locations across the county, including major routes around Carlisle and the surrounding areas.
The mobile camera enforcement programme includes Welton, where motorists can expect road safety monitoring during the day. Drivers using roads through the village are being encouraged to remain aware of the posted speed limits and adjust their speed accordingly.
Camera vans are also scheduled to operate in Dalston as part of the countywide enforcement activity. The location is among several areas selected for monitoring, with the operation intended to encourage compliance with speed restrictions and improve road safety.
The A595 between Carlisle and Moota is another route included in the planned enforcement locations. The road is an important connection through the county, and motorists travelling between the two locations are being reminded that speed enforcement can take place along the route.
Durdar is also included in the programme, meaning drivers travelling through the village may encounter a road safety camera van. Motorists are advised to pay attention to the speed limit applying to the road they are using and avoid relying solely on the absence of visible enforcement.
Houghton is another location where camera van activity is scheduled. The enforcement programme covers a range of roads and communities rather than focusing exclusively on major trunk routes, highlighting the importance of observing restrictions wherever motorists are travelling.
South Carlisle is also included among the planned operating areas. Drivers travelling through the city and surrounding roads are being encouraged to remain attentive to changing speed limits, particularly where road conditions, traffic or the surrounding environment require reduced speeds.
The A689 between Carlisle and Brampton is included in the enforcement schedule as well. The route carries traffic between the two areas, and motorists using it are being reminded that speeding can result in enforcement action as well as increasing the risk of collisions.
Camera vans are also scheduled to operate on the M6 between Junction 42 and Junction 45. This section of motorway forms an important northbound and southbound route through Cumbria, and drivers using the motorway are being urged to maintain appropriate speeds and remain alert to road conditions.
Brampton is included separately in the planned camera van locations. The combination of urban and rural locations in the enforcement schedule reflects the broad range of roads where speed monitoring may be carried out across the county.
The purpose of mobile camera enforcement is to encourage drivers to comply with legal speed limits and reduce the risks associated with excessive or inappropriate speed. Police road safety operations can take place at different locations depending on local priorities and identified road safety concerns.
