Speed Camera Vans Deployed Across Cumbria Today
CUMBRIA — Cumbria Police’s road safety camera vans are operating at multiple locations across the county today, Sunday April 5, targeting speed limit enforcement on key roads and motorways.
Motorists should be aware that camera vans will be present on the A685 between Tebay and Brough, the A591 between Kendal and Keswick, and the A592 at Bowness, among other routes.
Additional deployments include the A65 between Kirkby Lonsdale and Kendal, the A683 between Sedbergh and Kirkby Lonsdale, and sections of the A689 between Carlisle and Nenthead. The A686 between Alston and Penrith, the A6 between Kendal and Penrith, and the M6 between junctions 38 and 36 are also listed for enforcement activity.
Police say the initiative aims to reduce speeding and improve road safety for all users, especially on rural and high-traffic routes where accidents are more likely.
Drivers are urged to observe posted speed limits and allow extra time for journeys where camera vans are operating to avoid fines and help keep Cumbria’s roads safe.
