Speed Camera Vans Deployed Across Cumbria to Monitor Traffic

26 Apr 2026 Speed Camera Vans Deployed Across Cumbria to Monitor Traffic

Motorists across Cumbria are being advised to drive carefully as police have deployed mobile speed camera vans at several locations today, Sunday, April 26, as part of routine road safety operations.

According to authorities, enforcement vehicles are active on key routes including the A591 between Keswick and Kendal, as well as the A66 west of Kirkby Thore. Additional monitoring is also taking place in Kendal and along the M6 between junctions 38 and 35.

Further locations include the A689 between Brampton and Cornriggs, the A686 between Alston and Penrith, and within the wider Penrith area.

Police say the presence of camera vans is intended to encourage safer driving and reduce the risk of accidents on some of the region’s busiest and most accident-prone roads. Drivers are urged to adhere to speed limits and remain vigilant while traveling.
