08 May 2026 South Cumbrian Co-op Set to Reopen After Major Revamp

A Co-op store in south Cumbria is set to reopen following an extensive refurbishment programme aimed at improving facilities and enhancing the customer experience.

The transformation of the Grange-over-Sands store on Kents Bank Road has been completed after 16 weeks of work. The redevelopment is part of ongoing investment in local high street stores and community services.

Area manager James Dixon said the company was proud to invest in the town and remain an important part of community life. He described the upgraded store as significantly improved and expressed appreciation for the support shown by residents during the closure.

The store is expected to serve as a convenient hubfor local shoppers, with staff looking forward to welcoming customers back following the refurbishment.

The reopening reflects the Co-op’s broader commitment to strengthening its presence in communities and supporting local high streets through continued investment and modernisation.
