Silver Dream Shines at Bridekirk Hound Trails
The first Bridekirk meeting of the season in the HTRA calendar attracted 71 hounds across four competitive race categories in Cumbria on Saturday. The event featured strong performances from experienced champions and rising young hounds.
In the Seniors race, reigning champion and championship leader Silver Dream, owned by Darren and Julie McMaster alongside Anthony Skelton, started as the favourite among 13 runners. After a tightly contested race with several lead changes, Silver Dream delivered a strong finish on the final stretch to claim victory by three lengths ahead of Countess Ava, while Mel secured third place.
The Puppies race attracted the largest field of the afternoon, with 26 hounds taking part. Thorn Daisy entered the race as the favourite, reflecting strong expectations from spectators and handlers.
Bride Kirk remains one of the key venues in the hound trailing calendar, regularly drawing competitors and supporters from across the region. Organisers praised the turnout and competitive racing during the opening meeting of the season.
