Roads impassable due to flooding

A number of roads across the county have been affected following heavy rainfall overnight, with several routes closed due to flooding this morning.
Drivers are being urged to be aware of disruption on the following roads today, Monday December 15.
The A595 at Santon Bridge and Holmrook is impassable due to flooding and has been closed.
The A596 at Castle Gardens in Workington is also impassable because of flooding.
The A591 at Whitecross Bay is closed after vehicles became stuck in flood water.
The B5300 between Maryport and Silloth is impassable due to flooding.
Brindleway at Seaton is closed after a vehicle became stuck in flood water.
The main road from Great Clifton to the Clifton roundabout is impassable due to flooding.
The road at Braystone Holiday Village is also impassable following a vehicle becoming stuck in flood water.
A number of other routes remain open but are affected by flooding and should be used with caution. These include:
The A595 between Foxfield and The Green
The A595 between Kirkby in Furness and Askam in Furness
The A7 at Sandysike and Westlinton
The A6071 at Mill Hill
The A6071 at Irthing Bridge, Brampton
The B6263 between Wetheral and Warwick Bridge
Drivers travelling this morning are advised to adjust their driving to the conditions, allow extra time for journeys, reduce speed, maintain a safe distance from other vehicles and avoid driving through flood water.
