Rescue Dog Brody Finds His “Forever Home” in Cornwall
A 66 kg Pyrenean mountain dog named Brody has found a loving “forever home” in Cornwall after being rehomed by an animal rescue centre in Cumbria.
Brody, often described as being “the size of a small polar bear,” captured public attention when he was taken in by Animal Concern Cumbria late last year and listed for adoption. Shelter staff reported receiving “hundreds” of inquiries from potential adopters wanting to give him a new life.
The large mountain dog’s demanding size and needs meant that not every applicant was suitable, but rescue workers eventually chose Steve and Helen White a couple from Cornwall with experience caring for similar breeds and plenty of outdoor space as the best match for Brody.
Since moving into his new home, Brody has settled in well, delighting his owners and proving to be a gentle giant despite his towering stature. His new family has said that he has quickly become an important part of their household.
Brody’s story has highlighted both the challenges and the heartwarming outcomes that come with rehoming larger dog breeds. Animal rescue organisations often emphasise the importance of matching dogs with the right owners to ensure long‑term success for both pets and familie
