26 Apr 2026 Police Seek Good Samaritans After Woman Seriously Injured in Barrow Pub Assault

Police have launched an appeal to identify two good Samaritans who assisted a woman following a violent assault outside a pub in Barrow.

The incident occurred on April 22 outside the Orm gill Inn on Park Road, sometime between 4pm and 7pm. A 40-year-old woman was found unconscious on the ground after being attacked.

According to police, the woman suffered injuries to her head and eye, including swelling and bruising. Two individuals stopped to help her, placing her in their vehicle and taking her to a nearby chemist on Ainslie Street for assistance.

Officers believe these individuals could hold vital information about the incident and are urging them to come forward.

A 60-year-old man from Barrow has been arrested on suspicion of assault causing actual bodily harm. He has since been released on bail while inquiries continue.

Police are also appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information to contact them as the investigation remains ongoing.
