Police Release CCTV Image After Bar Worker Assault in Carlisle

Cumbria police have issued a CCTV image as part of their ongoing investigation into an assault on a pub worker that occurred inside the Woodrow Wilson pub on Botchergate, Carlisle, in mid‑December.
The incident took place at around 1:45 pm on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, when a man acted aggressively behind the bar, throwing glasses and causing damage inside the premises. During the altercation, a staff member suffered a concussion and a cut to their hand. As the suspect left, he also smashed a mirror inside the pub.
Cumbria Police said they would like to identify and speak to the man shown in the CCTV image released as part of the appeal and are asking anyone who recognises him, or who has information about the incident, to get in touch.
Members of the public with relevant details can report online via the Cumbria Police website quoting log number 95 of 16 December 2025 or call 101 with information. Alternatively, people can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Police say public assistance is crucial in identifying suspects in cases of violent behaviour to ensure accountability and support ongoing efforts to keep communities safe.
