Police Provide Clarification Over Carlisle Arrest After Viral Video

Carlisle, UK — Police in Carlisle have issued a statement to clarify the circumstances surrounding an arrest that gained public attention after a video was widely shared online.

According to Cumbria police, officers responded to an incident on London Road at about 4:20 pm on Tuesday. When they arrived, they found a man behaving in a disorderly manner, reportedly knocking on a door, climbing part of a building, and using offensive language.

The individual, a man in his 20s, was detained on suspicion of committing a racially aggravated public order offence. However, after further assessment by officers, police confirmed that he was released with no further action taken.

Police also stated they were aware of the video being circulated online and stressed that the arrest was not related to a separate incident involving a man seen wearing a flag in the footage.
