Police Officers Recognised for Outstanding Contributions in Cumbria

Police officers and staff across Cumbria have been formally recognised for their outstanding contributions to policing, with commendations awarded for a wide range of work supporting public safety and vulnerable people.

The honours highlight individuals and teams who have demonstrated exceptional commitment, professionalism and integrity while responding to complex and often high-risk incidents across the county.

Among those recognised were officers who have carried out life-saving interventions, including providing emergency assistance during critical medical incidents and helping to safeguard individuals in immediate danger. Others were commended for their work supporting victims of domestic abuse, investigating serious crime, and bringing offenders to justice through detailed and persistent enquiries.

Senior policing leaders praised the award recipients, noting that while challenging incidents often attract public attention, many acts of dedication and bravery by officers take place quietly in the background, away from the spotlight.

Cumbria’s Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner also highlighted the importance of recognising officers who regularly go beyond their normal duties, often placing themselves in difficult and dangerous situations to protect the public.

The awards form part of ongoing efforts by Cumbria Constabulary to acknowledge excellence across its workforce and to celebrate the commitment of those serving communities throughout the county.
