Police Appeal For Information After 51-Year-Old Woman Goes Missing From Grange-over-Sands

07 Nov 2026 Police Appeal For Information After 51-Year-Old Woman Goes Missing From Grange-over-Sands

Police are appealing for information and sightings of a 51-year-old woman who has gone missing from Grange-over-Sands.

Inga Vine was last seen near Canny Hill shortly after 1.40pm on Friday, November 6. Officers have expressed concern for her welfare and are asking members of the public to report any information that could help establish where she is.

Inga is described as white, around 5ft 2in tall and with brown, shoulder-length hair. Police believe she was wearing black trousers and a navy blue waterproof jacket when she was last seen.

Anyone who has seen a woman matching this description in Grange-over-Sands or the surrounding area is being urged to contact police. Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was near Canny Hill around the time she disappeared.

Police have asked anyone with information or a potential sighting to get in touch, even if they are unsure whether what they saw is relevant. Details about a possible location, direction of travel or time of sighting could help officers with their enquiries.

The appeal is focused on establishing Inga’s whereabouts and ensuring she is safe. Officers have not provided further details about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.

Cumbria Police have asked anyone who sees Inga or knows where she might be to contact them on 101. Information can be passed directly to officers through the non-emergency number.

Police have also issued a direct appeal to Inga, asking her to contact them if she sees the missing-person notice. The priority is to confirm her safety and provide any support she may need.

The public are being asked to share relevant information with police rather than speculate about her disappearance. Anyone who believes they may have seen Inga should provide officers with as much detail as possible about when and where the sighting took place.

The appeal was issued following her disappearance from the South Lakeland town, with officers continuing to seek information from the public. Anyone who can assist is encouraged to come forward without delay.
