Persimmon Homes Appoints New Land Director For Lancashire And Cumbria

21 Aug 2026 Persimmon Homes Appoints New Land Director For Lancashire And Cumbria

Persimmon Homes Lancashire and Cumbria has appointed Diane Howcroft as its new land director, strengthening the housebuilder’s senior team as it continues to pursue new development opportunities across the region.

Howcroft brings almost 20 years of experience across the housebuilding and development sector, with expertise covering land acquisition, strategic planning, partnership housing and development delivery.

She has spent more than four years with Persimmon Homes, most recently working as head of partnership homes. Her career with the company originally began as a graduate within the Lancashire Land team before she moved into the wider North West business.

In her new role, Howcroft will focus on land and development opportunities across Lancashire and Cumbria while supporting Persimmon’s three brands, Persimmon Homes, Charles Church and Westbury Partnerships.

Her professional background also includes senior development and land management positions with other major housebuilders across the North West. She holds an MSc in real estate and property management from the University of Salford, as well as a management degree from the University of Warwick.

The appointment comes as demand for new housing remains an important issue across the region, with housebuilders continuing to seek suitable sites for future developments and working with landowners and planning authorities to bring schemes forward.

Howcroft said she was pleased to take on the position and highlighted her long standing connection with the North West. She said her experience in the region had strengthened her interest in creating opportunities for new homes and communities. Persimmon Homes Lancashire managing director Gareth Stansfield welcomed the appointment, pointing to Howcroft’s regional knowledge, experience and leadership as valuable assets for the business.

The company said her expertise in land and partnerships would support its plans to bring forward new developments and deliver homes across Lancashire and Cumbria.

The role is also expected to involve working closely with landowners, planning teams and other stakeholders as potential development sites are identified and progressed through the planning and delivery process.

Persimmon said creating sustainable communities remains a priority, with its regional operations aiming to respond to local housing requirements while continuing its longer term growth plans.

The appointment gives Howcroft responsibility for an area where land acquisition and planning decisions will play an important role in determining the company's future development pipeline.

For the Lancashire and Cumbria housing market, the move could contribute to the identification and progression of further residential development opportunities as the company continues expanding its regional operations.
