OpenAI CEO Sam Altman Says AI Has Reached The Singularity
OpenAI Chief Executive Sam Altman declared artificial intelligence has entered the technological singularity, describing it as a transformative global milestone today.
Speaking on the Relentless podcast, Altman said artificial intelligence has crossed a threshold where advanced systems are increasingly capable of contributing to their own improvement. He described the moment as "awesome for the world" and predicted that future AI progress would accelerate at an unprecedented pace.
The concept of the technological singularity refers to a hypothetical point at which artificial intelligence surpasses human intelligence and begins improving itself faster than humans can understand or control.
