Lucy Pittaway Bowness Gallery Holds Closing Down Sale Ahead of Permanent Closure

The Lucy Pittaway art gallery located in Bowness-on-Windermere is holding a closing down sale offering 30 per cent off everything in stock as its closure draws near.
The move comes after Lucy Pittaway Ltd announced that it will close two of its galleries, including the Bowness location and another in Harrogate, due to increased operational costs and business pressures faced by many retailers across the UK. A formal consultation process with staff affected by the closures has also begun.
Lucy Pittaway, an award-winning artist and managing director of the business, said the decision to close the galleries was “incredibly difficult” and expressed gratitude to the colleagues impacted as well as to customers for their years of support.
Although the Bowness and Harrogate galleries will close in the coming months, other Lucy Pittaway galleries in locations such as Richmond, Yarm, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Keswick and the company’s outlet store will remain open, and online sales will continue.
The closing down sale at the Bowness-on-Windermere gallery presents an opportunity for art lovers and visitors to purchase original artwork, prints, homeware and gifts at reduced prices before the venue closes its doors permanently.
