Live: Cumbria flood warning and alerts after heavy rainfall

Flood Warning and Multiple Alerts Issued in Cumbria After Heavy Rainfall
One Flood Warning and five Flood Alerts are currently in place across Cumbria following a period of persistent heavy rainfall. The Environment Agency has confirmed that water levels are rising in several locations, with Keswick remaining under a Flood Warning.
Cumbria Police have urged motorists to take extra care on the roads, warning that surface water, reduced visibility, and localised flooding may make driving conditions hazardous.
According to the latest Environment Agency readings, the water level at Thirlmere Reservoir stands at 15.67 metres. Although this is considered normal for the time of year, the level is continuing to rise. Thirlmere begins to spill at 16.55 metres, meaning further rainfall could cause overflow in the coming hours.
The situation is being closely monitored, and residents in affected areas are advised to stay updated on official guidance and to take necessary precautions.
More updates will be provided as the situation develops.
