Levens Hall Extends Season With Halloween Family Events.
Levens Hall is extending its opening season this year, with the historic Cumbria attraction remaining open throughout October and into the beginning of November as part of an expanded autumn programme.
The attraction, located around five miles south of Kendal, will remain open until Sunday, November 8, 2026. While some areas of the gardens will have restricted access during the autumn to protect grass pathways and delicate borders, visitors will continue to have access to the famous Topiary Gardens.
The extended season will also feature a series of family-friendly Halloween activities towards the end of October. Levens Hall has announced a Halloween ceramic painting session on Tuesday, October 27, giving adults and children the opportunity to create pumpkin lanterns or star lantern jars.
Another highlight will be the Ghostly House Tour, running from October 29 to November 1. Visitors will be able to take part in a range of spooky activities, including a Halloween scavenger hunt in the garden, creative workshops and a costume competition.
The evening tours will take visitors through the historic house by candlelight, with sessions scheduled for 4pm and 5pm. Each tour lasts around an hour and must be booked in advance. Due to the nature of the experience, the tours are not suitable for children under five or people with reduced mobility.
Levens Hall will also host a Halloween and autumn-themed mask workshop on October 29, adding another creative activity for families during the extended season. The attraction already offers a range of activities for younger visitors, including quizzes, hidden mouse and bird hunts and Elizabethan costumes.
The autumn extension forms part of a broader programme of events at Levens Hall during 2026. Following the Halloween period, the attraction will move towards its festive programme, with Christmas at Levens Hall scheduled from December 4 to December 23.
The extended opening is expected to provide visitors with a different experience of the historic estate as the season changes. With its historic house, renowned Topiary Gardens and family activities, Levens Hall continues to offer attractions for visitors throughout the autumn period.
